August 31, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "The Centurion's Faith"

The centurion came to Jesus in humility and faith. He did not have the background knowledge of Scripture that might have helped him understand Jesus as the Messiah, but many others did have that background who never accepted Him as Lord. So too, many in our Christian churches have had great opportunity to understand the Gospel, yet they never bear the fruit of a changed heart and life. Knowledge of and exposure to the truth of one's sin must be followed by repentence and conversion, or an eternity in Hell awaits. (Matthew 8:5-13)

Speaker: Pastor Keith Betry

August 31, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "The Marriage Supper of the Lamb"

Is the world really as out-of-control as it seems? Scripturally it's right on track. Despite the excesses of the past, the preaching and teaching of prophetic revelation still has a place in the modern pulpit. (Revelation 19:7-9)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 27, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "Divine Resources"

Zechariah 4:6

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 24, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "David Encouraged Himself In The LORD"

Upon returning to their home of Ziklag and finding it to have been razed by the Amalekites, David and his men were sorely distressed. (It is interesting to note that had Saul obeyed God's command to destroy the Amalekites in 1 Samuel chapter 15, the Amalekites would not have continued to plague God's people.) Under these dire circumstances David did what we all must remember (or learn?) to do -- "...David encouraged himself in the LORD his God." (1 Samuel 30:1-20)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 24, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "To Obey Is Better Than Sacrifice"

The philisophy of pragmatism says, "It's not important how you get there, as long as you arrive." God is not a pragmatist, and nor should we be. Incomplete obedience is really nothing more than subtle, careful rebellion. 1 Samuel 15:22-23 says, "...Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry..." (1 Samuel 15:1-35)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 20, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "Abraham"

God's prophecy for Israel -- Possession of Caanan (Genesis 15:12-21)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 17, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "God of Judgment"

The God of the Bible is a God of love, but He is also a God of judgment. Do we truly believe that? Does it affect our lives, and our witness to our unsaved coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family? (Rev. 19:11-16)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 17, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "The Glory Hath Departed"

God pronounced a sentence on Eli and his house because, "his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not." (1 Sa 13:3) Because of their sin, God's glory departed from Israel. Will we, as a nation and as individuals, learn this lesson and avoid a similar judgment? (From 1 Samuel chapter 2-4)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 13, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "Abraham"

Genesis 15:5-11

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 10, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "Joshua's Memorials"

(Joshua 4:1-24) Joshua built memorials to remind the people of how God had worked and of what they had done in His strength. One memorial remained visible (v20), but one was in the middle of the river Jordan (v9), visible only in the mind's eye. The actions we take for God are the memorials we will leave behind, "That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever." (v24)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 10, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "My Eyes or God's Eyes?"

"In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes." (Judges 17:6) With these words, the Bible often begins or concludes a story of willful disregard of God's commands. A good church consists of a good man bringing the light of God's Word to a people who desire to see by that light.

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 6, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "Abraham: His Belief, Counted As Righteousness"

In this message we see Abram call upon God for His promise of an heir and, in a single profound verse, we see God's eternal plan for salvation made plain: "And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness." (Genesis 15:1-6)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 3, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "Training vs. Teaching" (Part 2)

Teaching puts information in a child's head, but training reaches the heart. (Deuteronomy 6:1-15)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

August 3, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "Training vs. Teaching" (Part 1)

Teaching puts information in a child's head, but training reaches the heart. (Deuteronomy 6:1-15)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 30, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "So Shall Thy Poverty Come"

Worldliness, immorality, spritual poverty. These things come not suddenly, but subtly, stealthily, when we fail to appreciate God's blessings of guidance and wisdom. A message of warning to teens and parents of teens, but useful and necessary for all. (Proverbs 24:30-34)

Speaker: Dr. Ronald E. Williams, Director, Hephzibah House

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 20, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "Phinehas' Zeal"

In this message's text we read of Phinehas' bold action in the face of sin. His zeal and militancy are little represented, and much needed, in today's world. Pray for men of God who will stand for truth, irrespective of the world's opinion. (Numbers 25:1-15)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 20, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "Three Reasons Why Moses Couldn't Go Into the Promised Land"

All's well that ends well? That's a nice saying, but it's not God's way. Moses was denied entrance to the Canaan over his one transgression described to us in Numbers 20:10. We are saved by God's grace through faith, and no sin is too great to be covered by Jesus' attoning sacrifice, but we do not have license to live as we please. Even born-again believers will stand before the throne of judgement, and give account for ourselves. We must strive for personal holiness, and give God the glory. (Numbers 20:1-13, 27:12-14)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 18, 2008 Creation Seminar, "Dating Methods and the Question of Age"

Evolutionists say that as long as you have enough time, "...the impossible becomes possible, the possible becomes probable, and the probable becomes virtually certain." Unimaginably long periods of time would be required for evolution to have taken place, even if one ignores the theory's lack of fossil support and its contradictions of fundamental biological laws. In this session we learn about the unreliability of Carbon 14 and Radioisotope Dating, the assumptions that underly these dating methods, and the scientific evidence supporting the Bible's assertions of a young (approximately 6000 year old) Earth.

Speaker: Dr. Orlando Buria, Ph.D.

July 17, 2008 Creation Seminar, "The Genesis Solution To Evolution"

"Irreducible Complexity" refers to the fact that biological characteristics, from large scale systems like eyes to microscopic systems inside cells, depend on dozens, hundreds, or thousands of interdependent mechanisms and chemicals for their proper operation. How could those mechanisms and chemicals have come together at the same time and place without a designer? In this session we learn about the incredible, irreducible complexity that defies explanation by evolutionists, and we also examine the Scriptural statements about God's Special Creation that no Christian has the right to ignore.

Speaker: Dr. Orlando Buria, Ph.D.

July 16, 2008 Creation Seminar, "The Genesis Solution To Evolution"

The lack of a mechanism by which evolution can be shown, or even reasonably imagined, to have taken place is a difficult problem for evolution theorists to answer. Likewise the law of biogenesis, which asserts that life only comes from pre-existing life, is supported by the creation model but contradicted by the evolution model. Can evolution, a theory which requires action for which no mechanism exists and which contradicts one of the most enduring laws of biology, really be called "science"?

Speaker: Dr. Orlando Buria, Ph.D.

July 15, 2008 Creation Seminar, "The Genesis Solution To Evolution"

Evolution, if it took place as the theory presents, would be supported by an abundance of physical evidence preserved in the fossil record. Yet no such evidence exists. On the contrary, the geological evidence correlates much better with the Genesis account than with evolutionary theory. Which one can more accurately be called "science"?

Speaker: Dr. Orlando Buria, Ph.D.

July 14, 2008 Creation Seminar, "The Genesis Solution To Evolution"

Rejection of "special creation" (that is, creation by God) has had an impact in nearly every facet of modern society -- Industry, Political Science, Medicine, Sociology, Ethics, Morality, Law -- and that impact has not been positive. We begin our Creation Seminar with a look at the untenable, unprovable theories of natural origins (the "Big Bang", the theory of evolution), their contradiction of fundamental scientific principles, and the inherently more reasonable idea of God as creator of the universe -- the Genesis Solution.

Speaker: Dr. Orlando Buria, Ph.D.

July 13, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "Esau Despised His Birthright"

Genesis 25:29-34

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 13, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "I Am Not Worthy"

In Genesis 32:10 Jacob acknowledges his unworthiness of God's many blessings. We too do well to consider our own unworthiness, and to rejoice in God's great mercy toward us.

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 9, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "Abraham"

Genesis 14:13-24

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 6, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "The Presence of God" (part 2)

"Is the LORD among us or not?" A time of difficulty is not an indication of God's absence, though it may be a time of testing, or a time of correction when we wander away. How can the believer know God is there? Simply by taking him at his Word as in Hebrews 13:5 "...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Exodus 17:1-7)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

July 6, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "The Presence of God" (part 1)

"Is the LORD among us or not?" A time of difficulty is not an indication of God's absence, though it may be a time of testing, or a time of correction when we wander away. Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

June 29, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "Song of Integrity" (part 1)

June 18, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "The Priesthood of the Believer" (part 3)

In Old Testament times, under the law, people had access to God only through the priests. No man does, or can, stand as our priest today. The New Testament tells us that now, through Jesus Christ, every believer has direct access to the throne room of God. (1 Peter 2:1-10)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

June 15, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "The Priesthood of the Believer" (part 2)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

June 11, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "God's Cure for a Troubled Mind"

How do we address a Prozac age? Believers have trouble just like unbelievers have trouble. The difference is that unbelievers have no recourse but to things of the world. Believers have direct recourse to God. Three critical, simultaneous responses can provide deliverance from the things that trouble the believer's heart and mind. (Philippians chapter 4)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

June 4, 2008 P.M. Bible Study, "Abraham"

Lot chose what he believed would bring prosperity, but in doing so drew near to Sodom and surrounded himself with the pride, self-satisfaction, idleness, and sin that characterized that place (Ezekiel 16:49) - to his own destruction. Abram's desires, choices, and actions were more noble and reflected his faith in God. (Genesis 13:11-18)

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

June 1, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "Our Covetousness vs. God's Will"

The tribe of Dan became dissatisfied with the land God had given them, and sought instead their own way. By so doing they set themselves up for destruction. We must learn to trust God, and know that He will protect and provide when we are where He wants us to be. (Judges 18, et al.)

Speaker: Pastor Keith Betry

June 1, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "A Message To People Who Do Not Know God"

March 30, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "The Freedom of Death" (part 2)

Humanly, we think of death as loss. But as believers we need have no fear of death. Paul wrote of being "crucified with Christ" (Gal 2:20). This death represents freedom - freedom from the tyranny of sin (Col 3:1-3), from the tyranny of self (Rom 15:1-3), from the tyranny of possessions (Luke 12:16-21), and from the tyranny of public opinion (2 Cor 4:8-18).

Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

For the family to function in a godly manner it is imperative that each believer enjoy personal victory in his own walk with God. The spiritual energy to be a good husband, wife, child or grandparent must flow from this victory. How do we make this victory a continuous experience? (2 Cor 4:7-18)

Speaker: Dr. Allen Griffith

March 16, 2008 P.M. Sermon, "The Need For Communication"

Dishonesty, anger, criticism, bitterness... we communicate these things verbally and non-verbally, and in so doing we slowly destroy relationships. Kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness are the raw materials with which destroyed relationships can be rebuilt. (Eph 4:25-27,29-31)

Speaker: Dr. Allen Griffith

March 16, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "The Need For Change"

Salvation comes by repenting of sin and accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Following close behind that salvation decision should be... change! What should a newly saved believer be like? What about someone who's been saved a year? Five years? Twenty years? There should be progressive, positive change as we are conformed to the likeness of Christ. (1 Cor 3:1-3, Jam 1:21-25)

Now I will come unto you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia. And it may be that I will abide, yea, and winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go. For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit. But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. Speaker: Dr. Milton E. Jones

January 6, 2008 A.M. Sermon, "Christian Sacrifices"

Hebrews 10 makes clear that Jesus' once-for-all sacrifice has done away with the sacrificial system of the Old Testament. We no longer offer the blood of bulls and goats to attone for our sins. Instead we offer our praise and good works, in thanksgiving for and recognition of our sure salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 13:13-16)
