Students to National Competition

During April 12-16 our senior high students competed in the national competition held at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC.  Margaret Anderson won the competition in the textile category.  Our handbell ensemble won first place and the handbell choir won third place.

The entire trip was an enjoyable one.  It is exciting to see our students develop talents at this level.  Congratulations on a job well done!

Grandparents Day

Grandparents' Day, February 18, 2010, was a great success.  We had over 80 adults (grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents) come to the program.  After enjoying lunch together, everyone was delighted by the story of "Stone Soup."  We have some excellent actors and singers in our elementary school.

We also had seven families visit the school during the Open House portion of the program.  If you know of other families who might be interested in Christian education for their children, please let them know that we will give tours of the facilities at any time.

A special thanks to Park Pet Shop for donating the goldfish that were the centerpieces of the lunch tables.  The students who found the special ticket were very excited to take the fish home.

Great Lakes Festival

We have a number of students in 9-12 grades who are planning to go to Maranatha Baptist Bible College for their Great Lakes Music Festival on Friday, January 29.  There will be classes for all students who are not planning to attend this festival.

PE and Band class will switch on Thursday and Friday to accommodate those gone to Great Lakes.  Don't forget your instruments on Thursday and PE uniforms for Friday!

Turn Around Day Fun
Wednesday, January 27, was our annual "Turn Around Day."  Students in grades 7-12 were given the chance to work with a teacher and become a teacher for the day.  It is great to see our young people working with younger students and preparing to teach.  A special lunch was served and enjoyed by all our "young" teachers.
