October 17, 2014
Final preparations are being made for our Fundraising Dinner on October 17. We wanted to let you know that there is still time to be included in the dinner. You do not need to send in a donation before the dinner, we will be taking an offering during the dinner as part of our fundraising effort. Come enjoy a delightful banquet meal of beef tips while being entertained by our students in grades 7-12. Our students will perform an enjoyable mixture of sacred and entertaining pieces during the banquet. I know you will enjoy the performances.
I want to stress again that all funds raised (after the banquet expenses) will go to the following areas of need:
Three new lunch tables for the cafeteria (immediate need - $4,000) Mulch for the playground area (immediate need - $2,000 for wood chips, or $10,000 for rubber chips) Additional ceiling-mounted projectors and Mimeo Smartboard ($4,000) Science room cabinetry and lab tables ($5,000)
If you are not able to attend the banquet, would you consider what you can do to help the ministry here? We are seeking to raise the funds for these capital improvement projects, if possible, this year. If all our supporters will contribute what they can, we can see our school advance in the above areas.
Please return the enclosed card with your donation or your intention to attend the banquet. Banquet reservations need to be received by October 10, either return the enclosed card by mail or call the school office to RSVP. If you know of anyone else that would like to contribute or attend the dinner, please feel free to pass along this information.
Thank you for your interest and support.
Students to National Competition
During the week of April 7-11 our senior high students competed in the national competition held at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. We are delighted to have three first place ratings at the competition: our Handbell Ensemble, Katrina Wendling in percussion solo, and Sarah Jawor/Grace Betry in the Piano/Organ Duet. Our Handbell Choir placed third as well.
The entire trip was an enjoyable one. It is exciting to see our students develop talents at this level. Congratulations on a job well done!
Pastor Betry Farewell
On January 31, we had a special luncheon to honor Pastor Keith Betry on his last day at Heritage. Pastor Betry has accepted the senior pastor position at Beth Eden Baptist Church in Massachusetts. We celebrated the 14 years of ministry he had among us. Fun memories and touching tributes were given. Pastor Betry will be greatly missed. May God bless you, Pastor Betry.
